Tile meetings are all about ensuring that your sho Tile meetings are all about ensuring that your shower design isn't an afterthought. Here's some key details we like to discuss when planning any tiled shower:
What's the shape of the shower?
Establishing the shape of your shower is the first step to narrowing our focus. Once we understand our guidelines, we can start planning how to fill in the designated space.
Is the tile pattern a running bond or a stacked bond?
Your tiles aren't going to be laid haphazardly. We'll decide if the tile should be aligned in a straight, grid pattern or offset for more dimension.
How will the tile terminate around the edges?
Any exposed edges of your shower tile will need to be finished in some way. We can go over several different techniques for terminating a field of tile while still looking clean and graceful.
What are your plumbing fixtures and where will they be located?
Plumbing fixtures can create unique obstacles to tiling your shower. We'll have to plan how to navigate the tile and finish it around your fixtures.
What is the shape and location of your shower niche?
Your shower niche is extra surface area that needs to be accounted for. We'll factor in the space when considering how to tile in and around the niche.

A thoughtful home addition should respect the character, scale, and architecture of the original house while creating space that works for the way your family lives today.
For historic homes in Knoxville, that balance matters. The goal isn’t to make the old and new compete. It’s to design an addition that feels like a natural evolution of the home.
With so much attention on the final project, it's With so much attention on the final project, it's easy to miss the beauty of the "right now."
Your dream home won't appear overnight, which is exactly what makes it so special. Intentional planning, expert craftsmanship, and a lot of patience are all essential aspects to designing a home that you'll love for a lifetime.
We know the waiting can be tough, but don't forget to cherish the process. Each in-between will tell the story of your future space.

It seems small, but the answer changes how the whole exterior reads. The way you treat structural elements relative to the body of the house is one of those details that separates a considered exterior from one that just happened.
It's one of those decisions that's easy to overlook and hard to undo once the paint is dry.

Before the final images, there's a lot of standing in doorways, adjusting lamps, and debating whether the light is better at 10am or 2pm. (It's almost always 2pm.)
We love to document our work because the photography is part of how we tell the story. And the story is how the next homeowner finds us.
